when callum was born he had a nice healthy belly button/umbilical cord. after the cord healed and fell off, he had a perfectly lovely "inny", but as time has passed we've noticed his inny has been turning itself inside out.
we went to the doctor today and found out that callum has an umbilical hernia. basically, there is a tiny gap in his stomach muscles that is allowing fluids to fill out his belly button. the doctor assures us that he is perfectly healthy and the belly button isn't at all painful or uncomfortable to callum, and that it should heal within the next year or so. so, besides looking uncomfortable and a little odd, callum remains a very healthy little boy.
